Color for the community!!

I'm very happy to announced my Solo Exhibition at the Mulberry Cultural Center.  It will be free of charge for all te community that wants to visit. 

Here is a little bit about the show:

"This body of work is expressive abstract, carelessly marking the way to redefine the figurative work. I try to draw out the complexity of life. I want to give form to the contradictions and the increasing difficulty of categorizing reality. Intensity and vitality are always close together in my paintings.

The language of flowers in particular and my relationship with them, evokes deep emotions and memories that takes me to execute those feelings and memories using radiant colors in the purest form. The result is palpable, and converts my love for nature in a careless and free act of creation.

The voice in the art speaks a million words that I couldn't possibly articulate verbally, and hold firmly onto the state of connection felt in resolution.  Creation is about the wonders of nature and our power to express freely."

This is a major accomplishment for me, and I'm very exited to share this moment with you.

Puerto Rico, Patria desde la distancia

Ya van 5 días desde que el huracán Maria hizo estragos en mi isla  Puerto Rico.  Sinceramente no se como describir lo que siento en este momento.  Desde tristeza profunda, esperanza perdida, sentido de impotencia, confusion y miedo. Y esa soy yo, que estoy fuera de l isla sin poder hacer casi nada para ayudar.  Con toda mi familia en la isla, incluyendo a mi esposo, hoy me siento, mas vacía que nunca.

Desde la distancia, los buenos deseos parecen ser en vano, las oraciones muy lejanas para llegar.  Solo me queda pensar, que los puertorriqueños somos mas fuertes que ninguno, y que nada nos derrota, por más fuerte que sea.

Si lees estás líneas estando fuera de la isla, y quieres ayudar...más que donar a una fundación que quizás se tarde meses y meses en repartir el dinero, simplemente dona suministros que van a enviar a Puerto Rico y apoya todo esfuero legislativo desde E.U. para demandar pronta acción a las necesidades que ameritan más urgencia. (claro que no hay situaciones que tengan mas urgencia que otras).

La isla lejana y la isla en mi.... medio mixto en mi diario.
