Soñando Con Pomarrosas, my new Multimedia piece.
I battled with this piece for weeks, not knowing what the end result would be. At the end I destroyed it in pieces and reconstructed it again. It has a lot of meaning for me, one that I did not anticipated.
True acceptance of finding beauty in things as they are. Beauty is imperfect, impermanent and incomplete... Wabisabi way...

It has been more than 4 months since I have written words in this space. I have travel to Ecuador, Panamá, Turkey and back home to Puerto Rico. I saw a lot of color and I have much to paint inspired by it. I cant wait to show you photos of my travels and my creative process.
But for now, I will tell you about an art show I will be part of. Is called Pink Moon, a gallery showcase of Lakeland Women Artists & Musicians o April 19th! I will be showcasing my art piece “Diosas”.

A piece about the force of womanhood. Every culture I know, had or has her powerful diosas. One that is very special to me, from my dear Borikén, is Atabey, the supreme goddess of the Tainos. She is the female entity who represents the Earth Spirit and the Spirit of all horizontal water, lakes, streams, the sea, and the marine tides.
In South America, the natives adored their Pachamama, known as the earth/time mother. In Inca mythology, Pachamama is a fertility goddess who presides over planting and harvesting, embodies the mountains. Believe me, I felt her force when I visited Ecuador.
When I traveled to Turkey, I discovered Cybele, (KYBELE) the ancient Phrygian Mother of the Gods, a primal nature goddess worshipped with orgiastic rites in the mountains of central and western Anatolia.
What they all have in common? The force of Womanhood.
